It reminded me of how EASY it is to live in Finland. Most of our plans had to be re-thought, because many of the places we wanted to visit were just impossible to find. Communication was difficult - nobody spoke English. We rented a car for one day - that was one of the best choices. There was only one car available, so I got to use automatic gears (which I've done only twice before). It was really rewarding to find out that I was actually able to drive in such a big city, and outside St. Petersburg.

I was looking forward to visiting abandoned factories, but all the buildings that SEEMED abandoned were actually in use. Need to do more research next time.

Generally, it was good practice on how to deal with Russian people and how the system works (or more specifically: what doesn't work). I think I'll be going there again, but not in a while. There are easier places to travel to.
